HAE Motorsport actively support the charity for Encephalitis - Encephalitis Society - action for support,
awareness and research.
They did not choose this particular charity in the conventional sense, rather it chose them.
Having been a sufferer of Encephalitis in adulthood Steve was very lucky to make the recovery he did.

What is Encephalitis? Encephalitis means, simply, inflammation of the brain. It can occur at any age
and is usually the result of a viral infection.
There are two main types of encephalitis-
-
Acute viral encephalitis (AVE) caused by a direct viral attack on the brain.
- Post Infectious Encephalitis an autoimmune condition whereby the body's immune system
attacks the brain following a viral infection elsewhere in the body.
